Casual Style
Have you ever woken up in the morning and wanted to dress casually at work, but still look presentable? I feel like this a lot when I work my 9 to 5 job. Though I wish I can attend my meetings in sweats like during lockdown (with the video turned off and half button up and half sweats with video turned on), I have to dress more appropriately than that now. I curated some items that look sleek yet feel comfortable during those days where heels just don’t cut it. Let’s be honest — heels are cute and all, but they’re not the most comfortable shoes to wear on a daily basis.
Everyday Workwear
This post is part of the series I made called Everyday Workwear. It’s dedicated to those who have a hard time deciding on what to wear before heading to work. Especially if the workplace has a requirement of wearing formal or professional attire. Sometimes we all need some help choosing our clothes for the next day, but don’t have the time to ponder or be creative because we might be late for work. I’ll be covering the basics and staples for outfits to wear at work with luxury clothing pieces.
Black, Taupe, Beige, and Green
We’re starting off with black again since it’s essential to any work outfits, but this time we’re adding taupe to the mix. What is Taupe? In some shades, it looks like a mix of grey, brown, beige, and olive. The darker the shade, the more it looks like brown, beige and olive. If the shade of the Taupe is lighter, it looks more like grey, but not exactly grey. It has some brown or beige in both lighter and darker shades.
I didn’t know what Taupe was until a few years ago although I’ve been purchasing items with the color Taupe. I love how it looks neutral and sophisticated. It gives me the serious, business vibes, but with a touch of coziness with it. I like to add some green to the color scheme of black and taupe, since it matches the green with some of the Taupe shades. I think it completes the whole outfit. It’s like the cherry on top of the ice cream with whipped cream.
Shirt: Jenni Kayne

Jenni Kayne Linen Logan Shirt | $245
Almost everyone wears a button up shirt to work. It has a clean, professional look with the uniformed buttons aligned at the center of the shirt. The Logan Shirt by Jenni Kayne is made of linen so it has a laidback atmosphere to it. It won’t have a crisp, no wrinkles look to it due to the linen material, but that’s the vibe we’re going for in this post. We want to feel comfortable while looking professional in the workplace. If you want it to be a little bit less wrinkly then you’ll have to iron it a bit the night before the next workday. The cut for this shirt is oversized which can look professional if you tuck in the front part of the shirt or tuck in the whole shirt.
Pants: Yves Saint Laurent

YSL Flared Tuxedo Pants In Grain De Poudre | $1600
I might be biased, but I’m in love with Saint Laurent’s In Grain De Poudre collection. I love the pattern of the pants and it looks so uniformed with a twist on the side of the pants making it look like a tuxedo. The flared cut at the bottom helps make it look more relaxed to match the shirt from Jenni Kayne. Since the top I chose for this outfit looks laidback, we’re making it look chic with these formal pants from Saint Laurent. If you’ve worn formal pants before then you know how comfortable the material is compared to jeans. They look sophisticated and professional, but feel amazing and comfortable like pajamas.
Coat: Burberry

Burberry Long Waterloo Heritage Trench Coat | $2590
The original popular creator of luxury trench coats is Burberry. How beautiful is this coat? I love how classy it looks with the belt and the details on the sleeves of the coat. The placement of the buttons and the collar are so iconic. Let’s not forget the interior of this coat. It has the famous Burberry pattern in it’s classic color. I love how this coat is versatile and can be used even outside of work like formal events. The cut of the coat isn’t too fitting which makes it comfortable. It looks relaxed yet chic compared to other coats I’ve tried before.
Bag: Yves Saint Laurent

YSL Le 5 À 7 Hobo In Grained Leather | $3450
I keep seeing different variations of Saint Laurent’s Le 5 À 7 everywhere. The bag has a version that looks more formal, but I chose this version of the Le 5 À 7 since it looks more relaxed yet sophisticated. It’s like Saint Laurent’s version of a tote bag and you can put anything you need for work in there. This bigger version of the bag can fit your work laptop and any notebooks you have for work as well. It’s a fancy work tote bag and I recommend it for those who want a casual looking bag that also looks chic (bonus if it can fit everything which it can).
Shoes: Gucci

Gucci Jordaan Loafer | $1050
Whenever I have to head to work, one of the shoes I choose to wear would be my Gucci loafers. I love the iconic horsebit metal design attached on top of the loafer. This Jordaan Loafer looks stunning in any color and material, but for this topic, I chose the beige with suede. The beige matches the top and the suede makes it look more casual and it gives it a comfortable look than leather. Gucci’s design of this loafer is very formal looking especially with the closed toed, there’s no opening on the backing, and the top edge of the shoe has a sharp V cut. For me, Gucci shoes are comfortable, but it varies on the shaping of the person’s feet. I always recommend trying shoes in store first before buying it.
Belt: Gucci

Gucci Blondie Thin Belt | $420
This Gucci belt is a nice rendition to their logo. Usually, it’s easy to spot the other Gucci belts, but this one is more modern. I love how it’s similar to the yin yang symbol with the two GG’s combined into one. The Blondie Thin Belt helps create a more uniformed look to the casual work outfit we’re aiming for. You can also use this belt on a weekend or after work with a casual top and jeans.
Bracelet: Dior

Christian Dior Petit CD Bracelet | $420
If you’re wearing jewelry to work, I always recommend not going overboard with the bling. This Dior bracelet is subtle, but it still looks luxurious. I love the gold with the CD engraving and the small pearl they added to the design. It’s called Petit CD bracelet for a reason and it’s straight to the point in how it looks.
Earrings: Valentino

Valentino Ovalette Metal Earrings | $390
These earrings feature the iconic Vlogo by Valentino. I love how they created a small version of their logo into earrings because it’s subtle, but still so striking. The oval shape of these earrings match the Dior bracelet since their CD logo is also shaped like an oval. It ties in together so beautifully and it completes the casual work outfit with a hint of luxury and sophistication.
